Traditionally you only need a single person to ride a single bicycle, but everyone knows that there is always someone to teach you in the beginning, support you if you race or call for help if you crash into a tree. It takes more than one to enjoy the cycling world to it's fullest and at Recycle-A-Bike, we promote this into our community. From our hands-on Directors and Workshop Staff to our faithful Volunteers RAB relies on a team of energetic and helpful cycling enthusiasts keep our pedals turning.

For more information on our volunteer programme, see below.

Nick

Nick

RAB's Director Nick rides a sublime Kona Sutra Ltd and a 650b Kona Unit X - both have steel frames which he loves! If he was granted a workshop superpower, it would be the ability to anodise bike parts to any colour just by touch, and clean out damaged tubeless tyres in one breath!

Pete

Pete

Pete is an experienced and established mechanic with RAB and runs his Kona Libre AL and Kona Big Honza to do it all! Pete collects life reflecting tattoos and loves watching sci fi and fantasy genres in his spare time. Super powers for the workshop? Time travel - so he can always get in early and ready to build and repair bikes!

Henry

Henry

Henry balances his day job in the RAF as a performing cellist, with being a volunteer at RAB. He runs a Kona Rove ST, Focus Cayo, Vintage Carlton and Giant TCR Mike Burrows. Outside of cycling he likes red wine, hiking and running. Super hero powers would be a Midas touch to convert all bike components to Dura Ace!

Pete

Pete

An original member of RAB, Pete has a wealth of knowledge of cycling. He currently owns a Peugeot 1970s road bike, a Kona Rove NRB and an iconic Orange P7 1990s MTB. He enjoys gardening outside of bikes. Super powers already possessed - moving eyebrows independently like a cycle guru!

John

John

John is a fully qualified mechanic and a long-time member of RAB. His key bikes are a carbon Kona Libre CR and a fetching peppermint green custom Higgins with flat city bars. His non-cycling hobbies are following QPR (a.k.a Super Hoops) Workshop superpowers? To have Inspector Gadget arms to reach the tool board and multi-tool hands!

Gary

Gary

Gary is a founding volunteer at RAB restoring bikes to the their prime condition. He rides a Kona Blast and vintage '94 Kona Fire Mountain. Gary's interests are photography and motorcycling his Suzuki V-Strom. Workshop superhero powers? Extending arms to reach nuts and bolts that fall and roll under the workbenches!
